The article illustrated that the Korean models’ outstanding outfits in the overseas. Han hye jin, Jang young ju and Hye park are working with the famous designers such as Prada, Chanel, Gucci and Marc Jacobs. Especially, Hye park was the first Asian in Chanel and Prada collection fashion shows. The increase of Korean models’ work in world-wide fashion shows such as fashion week in New York, Milan, and Paris encouraged Korean to be proud of that. By reading this article, I was curious about what aspects made them successful in the global stage.
First, they resisted not Korean standard, but Global standard. Some people insist that the most Korean style is he best. However, these successful models did not pursue Korean standard. They follow the global standard. I learned from this that when I go to United States, I should be apt at Global standard. I will not only maintain my characteristics as a Korean, but also try to fit in global standard.
Second, unlike many people’s prejudice which Asian models are negative and not good at communications, the models were positive and good at English. Consequently, the designers started to work with Korean models. I think the most important thing is ability. To be recognized by others, I have to improve myself.
I want to affect others like the models. To influence others, I have to succeed in my field. In my opinion the crucial thing to succeed is to do my best. Therefore, as a student, I will study hard and continuously develop myself.
